Part 2 of our engagement shoot was taken outdoors at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, LACMA. I always wanted to take our engagement photos in front of the LACMA light posts - one of LA's most iconic art installations. We headed over there right before sunset and the sights were breathtakingly romantic. Colin and I are ...
Highland Park Engagement Shoot
Colin and I love spending time in Highland Park, especially on York Blvd. So when it came time for our engagement shoot (which seems like ages ago now- back in March!), we decided to take the photos at our typical Highland Park hangouts. This is basically one of our favorite weekend routines after we eat breakfast... ...
My Glam Makeover
Colin and I took our engagement photos about a month ago and I absolutely loved my makeup, which I had gotten done by my friend Itsada. I got so many compliments and questions about what products she used on me, that she was nice enough to break it all down here. That's quite some before & after ...
Marfa Bachelorette Part 1
Marfa is a magical place. When it came time to plan my bachelorette trip, I thought... how cool would it be to spend a weekend with my closest girl friends in this small, artistic, eclectic town in Texas. So that's exactly what we did. We all flew from Los Angeles to El Paso. From there, it ...
Bachelorette Party Gift Idea – support BJWT
I'm dying to show you guys everything from my bachelorette party in Marfa, TX. We had so much fun - more on that soon. One of the things I wanted to make sure I had for the trip was a memorable gift for my girls. Animal welfare is something very dear to my heart. There ...
The Donut Proposal
A year ago today, Colin proposed to me... on a donut. It was a very sweet, special day and I'll remember it forever. I had a feeling Colin would be proposing soon since we had been pretty open talking about it. But the holidays had passed and I remember him being pretty worn out with the ...
Bachelorette Party Cocktails
Man I miss Palm Springs. We were just there for my friend Sarah's bachelorette party. We rented a beautiful house and had such a fun relaxing weekend. More details to come on our rental and the places we brunched at. My favorite part of that weekend was the time we spent just lounging around the pool. ...
I’ve been on cloud 9 since I got engaged. I’m excited, and also a little scared, at the thought of wedding planning. So far, we’re thinking the wedding will be sometime in the Spring of 2017, which gives me over a year to plan. I’d like to think I’m going to diet and work out in beast mode, but we’ll see. I’ve been daydreaming about what I’m going to wear, what I want my colors are going to be, what quirky venues I’d like to check out, etc, etc. You can check out my Wedding board on Pinterest here. I have a whirlwind of ideas running through my head, but when it comes to how I want to look on my wedding day, 60s style seems to be a recurring theme. I am so inspired by the 60s… thick eyeliner, dramatic lashes, flowy dresses, gem tones, and best of all, the BIG 60s hair. YUM.
Have you guys watched Season 7 of Mad Men? When I first started getting into Mad Men, I really liked that 50s Betty Draper look with the structured hair and sweet little pinup dresses… but I was in LOVE at the women’s style in the final season, when the show was set in the 60s. The hair and makeup was amazing.
I’ve come to the conclusion that I need big 60s hair for my wedding day.
If you guys have any tips on hair products, styling tools, extensions, anything to achieve these Big 60s hair looks, please share!
