Part 2 of our engagement shoot was taken outdoors at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, LACMA. I always wanted to take our engagement photos in front of the LACMA light posts – one of LA’s most iconic art installations. We headed over there right before sunset and the sights were breathtakingly romantic. Colin and I are huge art lovers and LACMA was one of the first places we visited together when we were just friends, so this place holds such a special place in my heart. I still remember that day like it was yesterday.
As many times as we’ve been to LACMA, we had never stood underneath the “Levitated Mass” before. This sculpture, by Michael Heizer, consists of a 340-ton boulder affixed on top of the concrete trench we’re walking under. It was pretty incredible. And crazy. The light posts are definitely my favorite. The “Urban Light” installation, by Chris Burden, is like LA’s Eiffel Tower. I love that it’s open to the public for everyone to enjoy. It’s such a beautiful spot, day or night. Such a lovely day, and one of my favorite days. Looking back at these engagement photos made me really happy. I felt so lucky being with my guy in this gorgeous place. And now we’re married!!! I can’t wait to share photos from our big day.
